Denver Sports 760 going all in on Broncos, transforming into “Orange and Blue Radio”

Fans sit on the berm to watch the Denver Broncos practice Dove Valley on July 29, 2016.

The Voice of Broncos Country will be a little louder this year.

According to multiple network sources, Denver Sports 760 AM, an iHeartMedia station, is transforming into Orange and Blue Radio and will cover the Broncos and only the Broncos 24/7. The new station is a 50-50 partnership with the Broncos and will soon be housed in a new studio being built at the team’s Dove Valley headquarters.

Orange and Blue will launch Thursday morning, when the Broncos begin training camp.

iHeartMedia’s local stations have undergone numerous changes to their cast of daily shows on Denver Sports 760 and their Broncos gameday broadcasts on KOA 850 AM. In April, former Broncos receiver Ed McCaffrey announced he would be leaving both his daily show on 760 with Andy Lindahl and Romi Bean, as well as his role as color commentator on KOA’s game-day broadcasts.

A month later it was announced that former tackle Tyler Polumbus and longtime radio host Rick Lewis would join Dave Logan (play-by-play) on the broadcasts. Lewis fills McCaffrey’s role as color commentator and Polumbus takes over for Lindahl on the sidelines. Polumbus, however, will also provide regular color commentary and get a daily show on an iHeart station — likely on Orange and Blue, as it looks to fill the time slots of previously syndicated shows. According to a source, the full lineup for Orange and Blue is “90 percent set.”
